Seeing Mendelssohn's Octet

This exciting music was composed when Felix Mendelssohn was a young man.  His youthful energy coupled with extraordinary talent create an explosion of hot colors and exquisite harmonies.  I chose to paint a passage where the violins soar in elevated conversation then melt into the most enchanting closeness of warm counterpoint that sounds like the deep scent of flowers on a summer night
